FAQ:

  • Q: How can I get this unit installed in my vehicle and how much it would cost me?
  • A: You will have to purchase it from our website and either DIY the installation or have a local professional stereo shop do it for you. Installation labor fee will vary depending on the shop's hourly rate which can range from $100-$200/hour. This install may take several hours depending on the shop's experience and expertise.
  • Q: Can I listen to the car's radio or SAT radio while in Carplay / Android Auto mode?
  • A: You may listen to the car's native radio or SAT radio while in Carplay / Android Auto mode. However, you will not be able to hear Siri and turn by turn voice guidance. Instead, you may download the SAT radio application and/or radio application on your phone so that you may listen to the radio / SAT radio while in Carplay / Android Auto mode and hear Siri/turn by turn voice guidance.

Making a great car better

So, I bought the Android Auto interface for my 2017 ES 350 and wow, what a difference. Using the navigation mouse is easy before, but with the interface is genius. I love being able to drive for Uber and not having a bulky magnetic clampy thing all making my Lexus Dash look like an experiment in stabilizing a phone. It makes my experience more enjoyable. I only have a few things to note. When I connect it to Android Auto settings, sometimes the only way to connect is to use the cord. The wireless connection choice is not always available. But, I found that if I turn off the car, restart it and go to settings and choose, it will appear and automatically connect. And sometimes it connects as I am going to pick up my phone to make the connection like there is a latency of about 2.0-3.5 seconds before its smooth. I'm ok with that as long as it works. One time it did disconnect completly while I was on a trip with Uber. The native screen came up to choose Android or Apple or settings. I was able to use my phone to complete the trip and afterwards it connected after stopping and restarting the vehicle and phone. I expect this to be less frequent as I use it more. Maybe user error. If not, oh well nothing is perfect. I'm used to things being glitchy, I have a cat with five toes and three legs, my fridge light comes on when the door is closing not when its open. My Apple TV disconnects my Bluetooth speakers at least twice a month, Google has forgotten my password three times in 9 months, even though I write it down on the wall in front of my computer every time. So, I'm ok with a few hiccups as long as it works with a wired connection if the wireless chooses not to be available that time. Hell, it might be the Android Auto app in my phone that is causing all this.

Worthwhile and easy upgrade

I had been waffling on purchasing some kind of Android Auto device for my '19 RX350 since I first picked it up in '21. The hesitation was on the parts not being sold by Lexus and the headaches that having it may incur.

After some travel a month prior to Christmas, I began looking into these again, and that's when I found that the Beat-Sonic kit is being sold by Lexus now! After weighing shipping speeds, I ended up ordering directly from Beat-Sonic.

Parts were delivered quickly and packaged well. My installation maybe took 2-2.5 hours being meticulous and making sure to test everything. The process was very simple, the hardest part being getting to the back of the head unit and putting everything back together.

Having the phone use the cars bluetooth was a great idea, I just had to tell Android Auto not to start playing music when it connects, and instead leave that to the car. Everything else worked great right out the box!

I’ve been looking at this brand for years now and watched so many videos dreaming of having Apple CarPlay. I finally bought this product and I am not disappointed. This met my expectations and an upgrade needed for my GS350. If you need or want one definitely buy it from BeatSonic, because they’re Lexus approved!

Awesome! Now I have carplay! Loving it so far

Took me about 2 to 2.5 hours to install on my 2020 GS 350. The youtube video for GS 350 was right on. The hardest part was trying to tuck eveything neatly and get the wires through from the radio to the bottom panel. Other than that, it was as described in the video. The product so far is living up to the hype. One quirk is that sometimes when I restart the car, it will go to the carplay mode, other times it will stay on factory until I press the map key. Also, the video talks about calibrating the sound, but the version I got didn't have that. Overall, love the system and the fact that I now have carplay. Much cheaper than the dealer service to install carplay.
